Atlas Oil Named To Inc. 5000 List

AtlasRanks No. 3,844 overall, and No. 62 in Metro Detroit.

Atlas Oil Co. is once again ranked among the fastest growing private companies in the nation.

Inc. Magazine just published its 2013 Annual Inc. 5000 list and Atlas is ranked No. 3,844. Within the Metro Detroit area, Atlas ranks No. 62 and in Michigan, where Atlas is headquartered, the company is ranked No. 96.

“Atlas has experienced a 74% growth rate over the past three years,” said Sam Simon, CEO & president of Atlas Oil Co. “This growth didn’t happen by accident. Our Atlas team members have a passion for this business and they work hard every day to exceed our customers’ expectations. There’s no magic to this formula—when you focus on your customers, you both win in the marketplace.”

Two business areas in particular have enjoyed tremendous growth at Atlas and both developed around specific customer needs. Emergency Fueling Solutions is a nationwide service for first responders and mission critical businesses to refuel generators, fleets and other critical equipment after power outages and weather events like hurricanes and tornadoes.

In response to the growing needs of U.S. domestic oil producers, Atlas Oil’s Crude Hauling and Transloading business moves crude oil from the well head to refineries and rail yards for distribution around the country. It currently has four transloading sites in Albuquerque, N.M., La Feria, Texas Odessa, Texas, and its newest site at Monahans, Texas. The Monahans and Odessa sites are dedicated to crude, while the other sites were built to handle multiple commodities in addition to crude, such as ethanol and biodiesel.

“As an entrepreneurial business, Atlas knows the importance of being flexible to respond to market demands,” said Simon. “We are excited not only by our growth but also in the knowledge that we are providing critical services to our country’s economic growth.”
