Brookshire expects to open 25 Spring Market convenience stores later this summer.
Earlier this year, a number of Walmart Express stores in Texas and Louisiana closed their doors, permanently, and Brookshire Grocery Co. has announced that the company will be acquiring 25 of those stores.
According to a report from the Tyler Morning Telegraph, Brookshire has announced plans to reopen the 25 stores under the company’s new Spring Market brand, later this summer. The acquisition includes 20 Texas stores and five Louisiana locations, and it is expected to be completed in July.
The company has announced that it will be seeking hundreds of employees to staff the new stores, Tyler Morning Telegraph reported. The new Spring Market stores will open in Anson, Diana, DeKalb, Edgewood, Frankston, Godley, Grandview, Hughes Springs, Haskell, Italy, Kemp, Leonard, Lone Star, Maud, Merkel, Naples, Palmer, Waskom, Whitewright and Winters, Texas. The Louisiana locations include Colfax, Iowa, Lake Arthur, Mamou and Zwolle.
