Funds assist with providing education to children.
York, Pa.-based Rutter’s Farm Stores continued its tradition of supporting the communities it serves with a number of charitable donations over the past few months.
Rutter’s, which operates 68 c-stores in central Pennsylvania, donated a total of $50,000 to five charitable organizations this summer. The donations came from Pre-K EITC funding, which will be used at all charities for scholarship funding.
Each of the following organizations received a $10,000 donation:
United Way of Franklin County encourages early learning and helps children achieve their potential.
United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County addresses the most crucial needs in their community by focusing on education, health, safety net and income.
Hanover YMCA strives to strengthen the foundations of community and build a healthy mind, body and spirit for all.
Hanover YWCA looks to be the leader in empowering girls and women, and advocating for equitable treatment of all people.
The Vista School seeks to create an alternative education and therapeutic program to prepare children with Autism to function in the community with increasing independence.
“Supporting the communities where our stores are located is part of our core values. These donations will help children receive the education they need and deserve, and we are honored to be able to assist them with their efforts,” said Derek Gaskins, chief customer officer.
In the past decade, Rutter’s Children’s Charities has donated over $6 million to support charities in the local communities it serves.
