Active military members enjoy free coffee and fountain drinks at Rutter’s.
In anticipation for their upcoming deployment, a local military unit is making the Rutter’s in York Springs their last stop before departure from Sunday going forward.
Yesterday a military unit added the Rutter’s on Heidlersburg Road in York Springs as the last stop on their route before they leave. Due to the store’s size at nearly 9,000 square feet, it serves as an ideal location for this military unit. They are filling up with about 2,000 gallons of fuel and getting about 200 cups of coffee each Sunday. Rutter’s stores provide free coffee or fountain drinks to active military, police and emergency services in uniform every day.
“We are honored to be able to serve our local troops and to have one of our stores near Gettysburg selected as their last stop before deployment. We are also excited to partner with Stetler this year for their Jeep Show and combine it with our Rutter’s Summer of Freedom Kick-Off to benefit Keystone Warriors,” said Derek Gaskins, chief customer officer.
While the military was fueling up at the York Springs Rutter’s, representatives from Rutter’s attended Stetler’s Jeep Show in York. All proceeds from the event went to Keystone Warriors. Stetler and Rutter’s anticipate bringing in more than $6,500 to donate to Keystone Warriors. Rutter’s sold a $2 donation meal, which included a Kunzler hot dog, Utz chips and Rutter’s tea pint.
