The winner of KickBack Point’s Fantasy Football contest was feted with two tickets to the NFL’s Big Game in Houston, roundtrip airfare for two and a hotel stay near NRG Stadium.
Alan Dinger, a loyal Pump’n Pete’s customer who hails from Baxter Springs, Kan., was the 2017 grand prize winner in KickBack Points’ annual Fantasy Football Contest.
As the 2017 Fantasy Football grand prize winner, Dinger received two tickets to Super Bowl LI, roundtrip airfare for two to Houston, a hotel room for four nights, two pre-game party passes, two game programs, merchandise coupons and an opportunity to meet former and current NFL players.
“What a great experience, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Dinger, who was accompanied by his wife of 35 years, Kay, on the trip to Houston. “It was a great game, but it would have been better if Atlanta won. But the entire experience of being at the Super Bowl was absolutely mind-blowing. Even the halftime show, which I normally don’t care much about, was amazing.”
KickBack’s Fantasy Football promotion, now in its fourth year, was an extremely successful one for the company. During the contest, KickBack cardholders earned one new fantasy football player every time they use their KickBack Points card. The players were displayed at the bottom of their receipt.
Cardholders then earned Fantasy Football points based on their players’ game performance every week. Weekly points accumulated over the entire course of the pro football season. The KickBack cardholder with the most points was awarded the grand prize.
Dinger has been a KickBack Points cardholder for more than four years. He said he regularly shops at Pump’n Pete’s stores in Baxter Springs and Ft. Scott, Kan., for fuel, snacks and foodservice items. During these trips to the convenience store, Dinger said he was aware of the players he was receiving, but wasn’t very active in the tracking the players’ results.
“When I got the call, I couldn’t believe it. Just a few weeks later I was in Houston talking to Terry Bradshaw and Jim Brown. I even got to ride an elevator with Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett and have a conversation with him. The list of people we saw and rubbed elbows with was incredible,” Dinger said. “When we got there, we felt out of place, but KickBack CEO Pat Lewis made us feel like we were with friends and helped us enjoy the experience.”
“Fantasy Football is just another way that KickBack Points helps retailers connect with their customers,” Lewis said. “We recognize that consumers have many opportunities. Our goal is to create unique and memorable experiences to show our appreciation for their business.”
