ExxonMobil consumers can now use Samsung Pay directly through the Speedpass+ app.
Payment just got more convenient for ExxonMobil customers with Samsung Galaxy devices.
ExxonMobil has enabled Samsung Pay as a method of payment through the Speedpass+ mobile payment app, providing consumers with a simple and secure way to purchase Synergy fuel and car washes with compatible Samsung Galaxy devices.
To make a Speedpass+ purchase with Samsung Pay, consumers simply link their Samsung Pay account to their Speedpass+ app and select Samsung Pay as the desired payment method. From there, they can purchase fuel across more than 9,600 Exxon and Mobil retail stations that are Speedpass+ enabled.
“Increasing the mobile payment options allows us to provide our consumers with a faster, more convenient experience at the pump,” said Rob Wollard, Americas retail fuels marketing manager for ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Co. “We are proud to be the first major fuel retailer to offer Samsung Pay at the pump.”
Making a purchase with Samsung Pay in the Speedpass+ app is as simple as opening the Speedpass+ app, selecting the appropriate pump number, authorizing the transaction with a fingerprint or PIN number, and selecting the desired grade of fuel at the pump.
In addition to being easy to use, Samsung Pay transactions are secure because they are authorized via a unique, one-time-use token, not a card number, which means your card number is neither shared with merchants nor stored on a Samsung device. Consumers can also “double dip” on their rewards programs, earning points with Samsung Rewards and Plenti loyalty points with the same transaction.
