Oklahoma c-store has raised almost $1 million for St. Jude since 2006.
OnCue Express recently surpassed its goal to raise $200,000 during the 23rd annual St. Jude Halloween Pinup promotion to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
During the month-long promotion, consumers joined the fight and donated $1 or more for a personalized Halloween-themed pinup that was displayed at all OnCue Express locations. The convenience store chain, based in Stillwater, Okla., has participated in the annual pinup promotion since 2006 and raised more than $928,500 for St. Jude, which treats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
“All of our employees and vendors came together for an incredible cause for children who are fighting for their life every day. It’s really hard to imagine as a parent what these families go through. So as long as there are those kids fighting for their life, we will continue to join together in their battle,” said Greg Webb, OnCue Express spokesman.
The majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors who participate in programs like the St. Jude Halloween Pinup promotion, and help ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
