After 50 years, Wawa says goodbye to its first location as it looks to build a more modern store.
The first Wawa Convenience Store, located on MacDade Boulevard and Swarthmore Avenue, which opened 50 years ago, is set to close as a new, larger site is slated for MacDale Boulevard and Kedron Avenue, Mainline Media News reported.
The new store will feature six gasoline islands slated for a four-acre site at MacDade Boulevard and Kedron Avenue (Route 420). Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2015, and the store is anticipated to be open for business in Spring 2016.
