“We’re delighted to sponsor Picnic in the Park again this year,” says president and CEO of Parker’s.
The City of Savannah has announce that Parker’s will be the Presenting Sponsor for Picnic in the Park 2014, which will take place on Sunday, Oct. 5 from 3:30 p.m.-9 p.m. at Forsyth Park. This marks the third consecutive year Parker’s will sponsor the event.
“Parker’s has been a strong community partner with a real commitment to supporting our city’s culture,” said Savannah Mayor Edna Jackson. “We are deeply grateful for their continued support of Picnic in the Park.”
In celebration of National Arts and Humanities Month, Picnic in the Park 2014 will feature an evening of live music headlined by The Savannah Philharmonic under the baton of artistic director and conductor Peter Shannon, as well as additional musical performances yet to be announced.
“We’re delighted to sponsor Picnic in the Park again this year,” said Greg Parker, president and CEO of Parker’s. “We enjoy giving back to Savannah and are truly honored to sponsor this iconic cultural event.”
WSAV-TV has been named the Media Sponsor for this year’s event, according to Eileen Baker, Director of the City of Savannah Department of Cultural Arts.
“It has been a real pleasure to promote, share and participate in this terrific family event for the past four years. Picnic in the Park gives us the opportunity to showcase all the creativity, fun, and musical artistry of Savannah with our viewing area, and the world, through our coverage and interactive live stream,” said WSAV General Manager Deb Thompson.
Picnic in the Park, which is free and open to the public, is a longstanding Savannah tradition, dating back to the early 1980’s.
Parker’s currently operates 34 convenience stores across the region and plans to open two new stores in June, one in Port Royal, SC. and an additional store in Statesboro, Ga.
