New locations open in Goldsboro and Elkin.
Sheetz Convenience Restaurants opened a new location in Goldsboro, N.C. on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m.
Executive Vice President of Operations Travis Sheetz was joined by City of Goldsboro and Wayne county officials for the grand opening celebration. The store marks the company’s 466th throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Maryland and North Carolina.
The company has ambitious plans to continue growing the in the state. In fact another store also opened on Thursday in Elkin, bringing the total number for Sheetz in North Carolina to 60.
“The support residents have shown at our existing stores has been terrific. We are building loyalty with people here and want that to continue,” said Adam Sheetz, regional director of operations for Sheetz. “That is one of the biggest reasons we are committed to opening several more locations across North Carolina this year. It’s been a great area of growth for Sheetz and is a big area of focus for our company’s future.”
Sheetz said the new 6,400-square-foot store features a drive-through window, inside seating and a much larger area for customers to shop comfortably. It will provide an economic boost to the area, creating 40-45 new full and part-time jobs, while adding $3.5 million taxable property value to the city and county tax base.
The celebration will include games and chances for customers to win dozens of prizes.
“We try to make all of our openings fun for everyone with local officials participating and lots of activities, games and samples of Sheetz food and beverages,” Adam said.
Sheetz also will make a $2,500 donation to the Special Olympics North Carolina, as part of the grand opening festivities. The company has been proud supporters of the Special Olympics for more than 20 years.
The new Sheetz will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and offer fresh food items like Sheetz’ signature Made To Order (MTO) items that include Angus beef burgers, premium grilled chicken sandwiches, freshly made salads, French fries, onion rings and more. The new store will also feature our MTGo! and Shweetz Bakery lines of sandwiches, wraps, donuts and muffins, along with Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, a full-service espresso and smoothie bar staffed by a trained barista where customers can order hand-made specialty coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and mochas—hot, frozen or iced.
