Support community health through the BP Fueling Communities Program.
Everyday Shops and Cafes, a convenience store chain owned and operated by GPM Investments, presented $12,500 in grants to Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation to support community health initiatives in Charlottesville, Va., thanks to the BP Fueling Communities Program.
“It is our privilege to work with our fuel partner BP to provide this grant money so we can make a real difference in our local communities,” said Bill Reilly, senior vice president of marketing for GPM. “We are committed to finding positive ways to impact the people who live in the neighborhoods we serve.”
The Everyday Shops and Cafes chain, which has 14 BP fueling sites in central Virginia, has awarded a total of $25,000 to the Hospital Foundation since 2012. The Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation serves the community by enhancing, maintaining and restoring personal health and well-being for all—regardless of his or her ability to pay.
“The work that these charitable organizations do is phenomenal,” said Reilly. “We look forward to finding even more ways to serve and will continue to do our part as a good community partner.”
BP Branded Fuel Marketers are able to nominate local organizations that are focused on health, education, youth, food or housing through the BP Fueling Communities program to support the local areas in which they do business. Similarly this summer, Young’s Food Stores, one of GPM’s convenience store brands in its Southeast division, granted $12,500 to Toumey (Healthcare System) Foundation in Sumter, S.C. Over the last three years, Everyday Shops and Young’s Stores have granted $62,500 through the BP Fueling Communities Program.
GPM is one of the largest privately-owned companies in the convenience store channel of business, operating 472 company stores as well as 143 dealer locations. The company, based in Richmond, Va., operates stores in Virginia, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Tennessee.
