Customers at NOCO Express buy paper shamrocks to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
NOCO Express Stores, its customers and employees recently made March a very lucky month for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) by donating a record $20,265 in the annual “Share the Shamrock Spirit” in-store campaign.
From Feb. 17 to March 17, customers could purchase a $1 paper shamrock at any of NOCO’s 35 locations to benefit MDA.
“As we celebrate 80 years in Western New York, NOCO is proud of our long tradition in supporting local organizations and the great work they do in our community,” said Michael Newman, executive vice president, NOCO. “Thank you to our customers and employees who donated generously to support MDA and the services and programs they offer to those with muscle disease throughout our local communities.”
In 2012, NOCO customers and associates donated $13,115 through the “Share the Shamrock Spirit” campaign.
“MDA is thrilled with the generosity of the NOCO Express community, its customers and employees. The excitement when visiting the stores was visible every day, and I had the opportunity to share some touching stories with NOCO employees about why they chose to promote the Shamrock program,” said Lauren Bonilla, fundraising coordinator, MDA. “We are excited to see our local partnership with NOCO Express grow and we cannot begin to thank them enough for making a difference in the lives of over 800 local families living with a muscle disease.”
MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. MDA also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy, and education. For more information, please visit www.mdausa.org .
