Kyle Krause, president and CEO of Kum & Go convenience stores, has been recognized as a winner in the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year program.
Krause was recognized in the Retail and Consumer Products Category.
The 2012 Central Midwest award winners—12 in total— were announced at a black-tie gala in Overland Park, Kan. on June 5, 2012.
The Central Midwest program includes the states of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska and has participated in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year program since 1986 and has had 17 regional winners go on to win national awards.
Some 1,700 winners from various regions now go on to the National Entrepreneur of the Year award competition. Those awards will be announced at the Strategic Growth Forum Nov. 14–18, 2012 in Palm Springs, Calif.
In 2012 these 1,700 nominees employed nearly 926,000 people, representing an average of 545 people per company.
In 2012 they generated revenue of over $235 billion, averaging $139 million per company and with revenue growth growing in excess of 40% since 2009.
Kum & Go operates 400 convenience stores in 11 states (Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming).
