Indiana Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association has partnered with OSHA.
The Indiana Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association (IPCA) is hoping to limit violent injuries and fatalities at convenience stores throughout the state. IPCA has signed an agreement with the Indiana Department of Labor to promote this specific effort.
The Indiana Department of Labor will give expertise on recognizing and preventing workplace hazards, and will share information and statistics on retail violence. Indiana OSHA’s INSafe consulting program will also work with the association on safety and health outreach and training programs. INSafe will also provide strategic industrial hygiene and safety assistance to IPCA.
The group plans to summarize its findings in a report to all c-store owners, providing the best available research on late-night retail safety and security. The report will review legislative and voluntary programs across the U.S. to act as models for Indiana stores.
