Total fundraising surpasses $20 million dollars in 25-year partnership.
Valero Corner Stores raised $2.1 million in its 2012 Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) fundraising campaign. The amount represents a daily average of over $75,000 during the campaign.
This is the second time in the history of Corner Store MDA campaigns that Valero has achieved more than $2 million in donations.
Corner Stores raise the funds each year through the sales of “Shamrocks” to customers. This year continues the strong tradition of raising funds to support important research and bring comfort to those affected by neuromuscular diseases. This year’s campaign brought incredible results in a short 28-day campaign.
“It is the individual action of selling a single Shamrock which demonstrates the passion of our employees and the generosity of our customers. These efforts combine to raise millions of dollars for such a worthy cause,” said Gary Arthur, president of Valero Retail. “The relationship our employees have with our customers creates the partnership to continue supporting the MDA mission to make a difference in the lives of people afflicted by this terrible disease.”
