First of its kind, community-driven initiative celebrates customers’ good deeds and generates engagement from retailers.
Cenex—the CHS energy brand—has launched a new a program that recognizes and rewards people for the everyday acts of kindness that make our communities a better place to live.
As part of a new marketing campaign launched last December, Tanks of Thanks is a program that invites Cenex retailers, customers and community members, to nominate others for free Cenex fuel as a way of saying thank you for their contributions to their community.
“Customers trust the Cenex brand because our locations are locally owned and an active part of the communities they serve,” said Kayte Haaland, CHS refined fuels brand marketing manager. “The We’re With You campaign and the Tanks of Thanks program reinforce our philosophy that our customers and our communities are at the heart of everything we do.”
Nominating someone for Tanks of Thanks is easy, and anyone can nominate or be nominated for any act of kindness—big or small. People can participate simply by visiting TanksofThanks.com and briefly describing why a community member deserves a Tank of Thanks. The site also shares nominations from communities across the country, highlighting the selfless acts that make these communities great places to live, work and play. Each month, winners will be drawn at random to receive a Tanks of Thanks gift card worth $50 in free fuel.
In addition to the monthly drawing, each Cenex retailer is awarding Tanks of Thanks gift cards to individuals making contributions in their local community. By the end of 2012, it is anticipated that Tanks of Thanks will recognize more than 2,500 people.
“The Cenex brand has deep-roots in the communities that we serve; and we’re delighted to give back to those people who go out of their way to make the community a better place,” added Haaland. “These acts of kindness do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Tanks of Thanks is our way of celebrating and sharing inspiring stories—and hopefully encouraging others to think about ways they can make a difference, too.
In addition to the Tanks of Thanks program, the We’re With You campaign also includes a new Cenexperts blog, providing insight from CHS experts on everything from ways to improve fleet efficiency and tips for heavy machinery maintenance, to home heating safety and tips for deep-frying a turkey.
