Customers donate dollars during the month of October to assist the research and treatment of childhood diseases.
Casey’s General Stores raised more than $667,000 during October as part of the 20th Annual St. Jude Halloween Promotion.
The program raises funds to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other deadly childhood diseases.
Throughout October, Casey’s asked customers to donate $1 or more in exchange for a pumpkin-shaped pinup they can personalize. Since Casey’s joined the program in 2000, the company has raised more than $3.4 million, $1 at a time, for the children of St. Jude. The hospital began the program in 1992 and to date has raised more than $52 million.
“For 11 years we have been proud to support the phenomenal work done by St. Jude,” said president & CEO Robert Myers. “Through our nearly 1700 stores who bring the Halloween program to life, we have helped raise millions for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This program continues to focus on the needs of our children.”
Halloween is arguably one of the most popular holidays at St. Jude because it is a day where kids of all ages get to dress up and feel like regular, healthy kids. The hospital comes to life on this day with themed Trick-or-Treating stations for patients and siblings to enjoy.
