Following the acquisition, Circle K will operate 29 locations in western Pennsylvania.
Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc.’s Circle K has acquired 26 stores in three states from Chico Enterprises Inc. of Morgantown, W.Va., the Pittsburgh Tribune Review reported.
Seven of those stores are located in western Pennsylvania, including outlets in North Fayette and in Dunbar, Fayette County, adding to the 22 sites Circle K already operates in the region.
Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. operates 5,741 stores in the U.S. and Canada under banners, including Circle K in the U.S. and Mac’s in Canada.
Recently, the company has been making a number of acquisitions. In August, Circle K acquired 33 stores in southern Louisiana from ExxonMobil for On the Run-branded stores, which is expected to close in December. Also in August, the company, through its RDK joint venture, bought 27 stores in the Chicago area. Fourteen of those locations will be corporate-run sites, while independent operators will run the other sites. That acquisition also included two land parcels. Most recently, Dead River Co. in Maine announced it plans to sell its 19 stores to Circle K. That deal is expected to close in December.
