Using Vendgogh’s integrated gas island vending solutions, Murphy Oil is set to allow fuel customers to buy fuel and cold drinks right at the pump with the swipe of a credit card.
Murphy Oil USA is partnering with Vendgogh LLC to pilot gas island vending at selected Murphy USA stores in Arkansas, Georgia and North Carolina.
Working together, the companies plan to install Vendgogh’s integrated gas island vending solutions to enable Murphy USA fuel customers to purchase fuel and cold drinks with a single swipe of their credit cards right at the pump. Murphy realizes that many of their customers buy only gasoline and pay at the pump with their credit cards for extra convenience. This new service will allow those same fuel customers to buy a cold drink from a vending machine located next to the pump while they are fueling their vehicles.
“Murphy USA has always been dedicated to taking care of our customers,” said Don Miller, manager of business alliances for Murphy Oil USA, which operates more than 1,100 retail outlets in 23 states.
“Through this gas island initiative, we are striving to enhance the overall shopper experience for our valued fuel customers. We are simply helping them get more for their money with less effort when they visit Murphy USA.”
Research shows that a growing number of fuel customers are paying at the pump and buy nothing more than gasoline when they stop at a typical convenience store. Murphy USA is focused on catering to their fuel customers with enhanced service at the pump.
“We are excited about working with Murphy USA to bring this exciting new service to their fuel customers,” said Larry McAnallen, vice president business development at Vendgogh. “Murphy USA is extremely focused on delivering value and convenience to their customers, and we think this new initiative will raise the bar to a new level.”
The installations began in September 2011.
