The Pantry Inc., which operates more than 1,600 convenience stores in 13 states, reached an agreement with Western Union to provide an in-lane money-transfer service, Western Union goCASH, at its Kangaroo Express Stores.
The new service enables consumers to pay for a domestic or global money transfer while shopping at more than 1,650 Kangaroo Express stores.
The Pantry senior vice president of marketing John Fisher said the new transfer service will provide time-saving option for Kangaroo Express store guests.
The goCASH package can be purchased for domestic and international money transfers with options to select any of three principal amounts ranging from $50 to $200.
Consumers can complete the transaction online or over the phone through a Western Union customer service representative and provide the money-transfer information to the receiver.
The new services will be operational this fall at Kangaroo Express stores.
The Pantry’s Kangaroo Express stores are located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina and Virginia.
