Texarkana, Texas-based E-Z Mart Stores Inc. is expanding its convenience offering in Arkansas.
On Dec. 1, E-Z Mart began operating eight more stores acquired from B-B-F Oil Co., bringing E-Z Mart’s store count to 306. The new locations in Arkansas are located in Pine Bluff, Hot Springs, Benton and Sheridan.
“The acquisition of B-B-F Oil Companies complements our existing business. By expanding our regional presence, E-Z Mart is better able to serve the convenience needs within these communities,” said E-Z Mart CEO Sonja Hubbard.
E-Z Mart celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The privately held convenience store chain operates throughout Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
Under Hubbard, E-Z Mart has been busy over the past year. In its continuing efforts to grow, progress and be a competitive retailer it has been constantly updating its image. It unveiled a new logo that will be rolled out to stores in the coming years and is currently being used on all new signage, print media and renovated stores. It is a sharper, more distinctive look that the company hopes will draw in customers and make it more visible from a distance to help its stores stand out in this competitive market.
The company also pushed forward with the E-Z MART Scholarship. Each year, up to $10,000 will be dedicated to the E-Z MART Scholarship Program. This commitment will allow E-Z MART to award up to 10 individuals with $1,000 to help realize their full potential by aiding with the expenses of obtaining a higher education.
