Des-Moines, Iowa-based Seneca Cos. has been granted a Safety Award from the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council for outstanding achievement in accident prevention during the 2009 calendar year.
The company offers multiple divisions to handle Petroleum construction, remodels and service, as well as environmental clean-up, remediation and the use of potentially dangerous machinery for industrial cleaning, hydroblasting and emergency spill response. Each of these divisions undergoes rigorous training to satisfy the client’s need for timely response and professionalism while reducing risk and maintaining safety standards on their site.
Seneca Cos. was one of only 170 businesses, industries and government agencies in this two state region to receive an award for promoting active safety programs and reducing OSHA recordable injuries among their employees. In order to qualify for this award, applicants had to demonstrate an incident rate lower than the national average for their specific industry.
“We have gone to great lengths to train our employees on proper safety procedures to ensure the protection of our employees, our clients, and the facilities in which we work,” said Human Resources Director Matt Puffer. “We’re proud to be recognized for these efforts and our clients have taken note of this by selecting Seneca Cos. for upcoming jobs.”
