San Antonio-based Valero Energy Corp. has discontinued operations in Delaware City after completing the sale of its terminal operation there to Delaware City Refining Company LLC and Delaware Pipeline Company LLC, wholly owned subsidiaries of PBF Energy Company LLC.
Valero received total proceeds of $220 million from the sale.
Valero had announced the sale of the assets in April. It is also exploring strategic options for its refineries in Paulsboro, N.J., and Aruba. The company currently owns or operates 15 refineries with a combined throughput capacity of approximately 2.8 million barrels per day. Valero also has 10 ethanol plants in the Midwest with a combined capacity of 1.1 billion gallons per year, and operates about 5,800 retail and branded wholesale outlets in the U.S, Canada and the Caribbean under the Valero, Diamond Shamrock, Shamrock, Ultramar and Beacon brands.
