Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Hot Stuff Foods has launched the ‘MVP’ (Medium Value Pizza) to help retailers capture market share in the ongoing battle with QSRs.
“The national pizza chains are promoting pizza deals,” said Craig VanHyfte, vice president of marketing for Hot Stuff Foods, “and Hot Stuff Foods is answering the challenge by equipping our franchisees with yet another option to our already competitive pizza program. With medium pizzas retailing at $5.99 and cross promotions with large pies dropping the prices even more, retailers can still offer the same high quality pizza their customers expect while going head-to-head with the big boys.”
VanHyfte noted Hot Stuff’s MVP offers the same high quality ingredients as its regular size pizza, but at a lower price, allowing retailers to highlight their dinner pizza business, and drive more customers into the store.
“Industry research confirms that the vast majority of consumers don’t make a decision about dinner until late afternoon,” VanHyfte said. “We are working with our franchise partners to grab the attention of these customers during the dinner day-part and drive-time hours to put pizza top-of-mind.”
Drive-Time promotions include product sampling, having prepared pizzas in the warmer for afternoon traffic, featuring highly visible merchandising of the MVP, distributing bounce-back coupons at the cash register, fuel pumps, accompanying Hot Stuff breakfast items and other efforts to highlight the retailers’ multi-day-part foodservice operation.
