Kwik Shop Contemplates Adding Pharmacy

C-store customers may be able to pick up their prescription with their morning coffee in the near future.

Kwik Shop, the c-store chain owned by Kroger, is considering adding pharmacies to its stores, the Wichita Eagle News reported.

The key word, however, is considering.

“I think that sounds interesting,” said Kwik Shop President Jeff Parker. “That doesn’t mean, though, that it’s going to happen. We have looked at a lot of things like that.”

Parker had done his research, including checking into a Kroger convenience store chain in Florida that has one location with a pharmacy. But at this point, the plan to incorporate a pharmacy is still in the early consideration stage, and Parker has not formed a timetable that he wants to make a decision by. “We don’t have any kind of definitive schedule or anything like that.”
