Leaders at Jordan Lutheran Church in North Carolina are promoting a gas discount at a BP station in Cary, N.C., to show people that God cares about their practical needs, too, TV station NBC 17 reported.
The church will promote 50-cent-per-gallon gas at Dolphins BP on Jan. 17 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., NBC 17 reported.
The limit is 15 gallons of gas per vehicle.
“People often ask why we do these types of events?” Jordan Lutheran Church Pastor Mike Merker told the news station in a written statement. “The number one reason is that we want the community to know that Jesus cares for even their practical needs. We believe that showing kindness in a practical way is what Jesus would do if He were walking the earth today. We are to be Jesus’ hands’ and feet.”
