Chester’s International, a fried chicken foodservice provider for the convenience store industry, has opened a new location at Love’s Travel Stop in Hubbard, Ohio at exit 234 off Interstate 80, the company said.
The Hubbard location, located just across the Pennsylvania state line, celebrated its grand opening on May 22.
Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores is a family-owned company headquartered in Oklahoma City. Established in 1964, it has since grown to include more than 200 Travel Stops & Country Stores throughout the U.S.
Love’s was Chester’s first franchisee, and today is the largest franchise operator in the system, with nearly 40 Chester’s and Chester Fried locations in travel plazas across the U.S. Love’s is slated to add additional Chester’s locations in 2008.
“Working with a national brand like Chester’s has proven to be successful for us,” said Joe Cotton, director of restaurant services for Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores. “The marketing support we get from Chester’s is a much needed boost that we could only get from a strong foodservice partner.”
The new Chester’s at Love’s will serve lunch and dinner offerings through Chester’s signature menu options, which include Chester’s fried chicken tenders, bone-in chicken and potato wedges. The Hubbard location also boasts a Subway co-brand and features dine-in and carryout options.
“We are excited to see our franchise program expand with Love’s Travel Stops,” said Ted Giles, CEO of Chester’s International. “Love’s is an expanding brand in the travel industry and we are proud to award additional franchises and support to their emerging travel stops across the country.”
Chester’s International has more than 1,500 Chester Fried licensed and Chester’s franchised locations.
