U.S. Representative Hultgren served customers from behind the counter at Casey’s on Aug. 31.
On Wednesday, Aug. 31, as a part of the NACS In Store program, U.S. Representative Randy Hultgren spent the morning working behind the counter of the Casey’s General Store on Route 34 in Plano, Ill.
Hultgren took this opportunity to tour the gas station and kitchen area of the store and to serve customers from behind the counter. Additionally, the Daily Chronicle reported that Hultgren spoke with Casey’s representatives of Casey’s about their concerns.
Hultgren stated that he loved having the opportunity to connect with businesses, employees and the people in the community, as he is now able to better understand what issues are important to those in the communities which he serves. According to the Daily Chronicle, Hultgren reported that Casey’s, along with other local businesses, major complaints concern the large number of government regulations that they face.
Hultgren pointed out that there are common frustrations among the local businesses, including the number of regulations they face and the increasing number of menu labeling requirements. Having the opportunity to speak with store representatives has made it easier for Hultgren to understand the actual complications that stores are facing with all of the new regulations that have been introduced recently.
