Love’s has purchased property and a building adjacent to its current main corporate campus in order to house future growth.
On Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc. entered into a purchase agreement to acquire the building and land located to the south of the company’s main corporate campus on Pennsylvania Avenue, which is currently occupied by The Hertz Corp.
The 126,000-square foot building located on roughly 16 acres adjacent to Love’s main corporate headquarters gives the company the opportunity to double the size of its existing campus in the heart of Oklahoma City. This is a major development for a company focused on expansion.
“The purchase of our neighboring Hertz data center building is a direct result of Love’s plans for the future,” said Greg Love, co-CEO of Love’s. “We continue to grow our network of travel stops across the country as well as other businesses like freight factoring, truck tire care and our expanding CNG refueling company, Trillium. The acquisition of the Hertz building and the associated raw land will allow us to house our future growth needs at our main campus in The Village, Okla. We are proud of our past accomplishments, but we are even more excited about our future.”
The 38-year-old building will require extensive updates, and Hertz will have a small presence in the building for the immediate future. Hertz relocated employees who were working in the building to one of its other locations in Oklahoma City. Currently, Love’s has 1,200 corporate employees working on three company campuses in Oklahoma City.
