New hires help position BW Gas & Convenience for pending c-store acquisition in Iowa.
BW Gas & Convenience Holdings LLC welcomes Lisa Dodson, Kolby Jones, Greg Penman, Tony Sparks and Rebecca Teiken to BW Gas & Convenience’s management team.
BW Gas & Convenience Holdings is an affiliate of Brookwood Financial Partners LLC, a private equity investment firm. BW Gas & Convenience owns and operates gas stations with convenience stores in selected regions of the U.S. and has plans to expand its portfolio to between 600 and 1,000 stores over the next several years.

Given their collective experience in the convenience store space, we have no doubt that each will have an immediate and significant impact on the operations and performance of our company.”
Dodson will serve as pricebook manager and will be responsible for operating the company’s pricebook database and coordinating product set-ups and price changes in alignment with in-store promotions. Prior to joining BW Gas & Convenience, Dodson was a center store pricing and assortment manager for Dahl’s Foods where she worked with vendors to bring in new merchandise and set base retail pricing and promotional schedules. Prior to this, Dodson was a pricebook manager for Kum & Go L.C where she implemented the PDI-Enterprise system in over 400 stores. Dodson is a graduate of Blackhawk College.
Jones and Penman will both serve as regional directors of acquisitions and will be responsible for acquiring additional gas stations with convenience stores in the Midwest region.
Prior to joining BW Gas & Convenience, Jones was director of business development for Ecosystem Services Exchange where he was responsible for managing all of the firm’s accounts and developing new business opportunities. Prior to this, Jones was a real estate development representative for Kum & Go where he was responsible for deal negotiation, acquisition and development of potential store locations for the Iowa, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota and Wyoming territory. Jones is a graduate of Florida State University.
Penman comes to BW Gas & Convenience from Walmart where he was a real estate manager. In this capacity, Penman populated the firm’s real estate acquisition pipeline with new, expansion and relocation projects to maximize investment and shareholder return. Prior to this, Penman was a real estate project manager for Delek US where he sourced and negotiated acquisitions for the firm’s 400-store portfolio of gas stations with convenience stores. Penman began his career identifying and executing real estate development strategies for BP. Penman is a graduate of McKendree College.
Sparks will serve as vice president of merchandising and will be responsible for managing all merchandising department activities including pricing, product mix, placement and promotional activity for all categories and locations. Prior to joining BW Gas & Convenience, Sparks was the vice president of marketing for Southwest “C” Stores where led the firm’s 300-store convenience store chain to record sales and gross profit dollars in 2015 and led all marketing, merchandising and advertising initiatives. Previously, Sparks was director of marketing for Family Express and prior to that, he was a national category manager for 7-Eleven Inc. Sparks is a graduate of the University of Nevada.
Teiken will serve as senior IT manager and will be responsible for leading all connectivity and technology initiatives. Previously, Teiken was a project manager for Drop Tank where she was responsible for hardware deployment to 4,000 retail sites. Prior to this, Teiken was an IT program manager for BP where she was responsible for developing a training program for 4,000 employees across 1,700 sites across the U.S. Teiken is a graduate of William Penn University.
Dodson, Jones, Sparks and Teiken will be based out of BW Gas & Convenience’s Des Moines, Iowa regional headquarters. Penman will be based out of BW Gas & Convenience’s Bentonville, Ark. office.
