GasBuddy will soon help customers meet the budget-conscious driving partner of their dreams.
The lonely traveler doesn’t have to be lonely any longer now that GasBuddy, the fuel app for helping consumers save money at the pump, has announced the launch of a new dating app, GasBuddyWithBenefits.
While GasBuddy has been a mainstay in the app space for over a decade, the launch of a new dating app has undoubtedly invigorated its fan base. GasBuddyWithBenefits will match up budget-conscious users hoping to fill that open shotgun seat next to them.
“What is more romantic than finding love at a gas station?” said Helen Johnson, expert relationship advisor for GasBuddyWithBenefits. “GasBuddy has been outstanding at matching users with the perfect gas station, and with such passionate users, there were sure to be some lovebirds that shared more than just their love for gas. GasBuddyWithBenefits will help these users connect both digitally and physically.”
Dating websites and apps have found recent success in segmenting users based on desired characteristics such as religion, race and age. These sites have taken segmentation a step further by providing matchmaking services based on similar interests. FarmersOnly.com is one example of this, where the site has matched its users based on a common love for farming.
However, studies show that 98% of Americans and 82% of Canadians drive their personal vehicle more than a tractor. So, if a farmer dating site is having success, there is clearly a market for GasBuddyWithBenefits.
The new app will have users take a selfie of themselves in front of their favorite gas station or vehicle. Matchmaking software algorithms will scan the user’s photo and suggest matches based on location and gas station brand or vehicle model. Users will also have the ability to make personal profiles to include information such as name, age, sex and desired level of ethanol blend.
The release date for the app has not been announced, but because this is an April Fools’ Day joke, it is unlikely to ever be named.
