Buc-ee’s plans to include local Baton Rouge products in its first convenience store location outside of Texas.
Buc-ee’s is expanding its footprint beyond the Lone Star State by opening its first convenience store in Louisiana.
According to a report from the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report Buc-ee’s is debuting its new location in The Greens at Millerville development in Baton Rouge at the intersection of Interstate 12 and Millerville Road. It expects to break ground in the second quarter of 2016 and open for business in early 2017.
Buc-ee’s is purchasing a whopping 15-acre parcel on the development to house its new massive convenience store gas station, which will measure more than 60,000 square feet of retail space and more than 90 fueling positions.
Buc-ee’s, which currently operates 32 Texas convenience stores, is known for the size of its massive stores as well as its beautiful and clean restrooms.
The new Louisiana Buc-ee’s is expected to be similar in size and scope of the company’s Baytown, Texas location, which is the nearest Buc-ee’s to Louisiana, Greater Baton Rouge Business Report reported. While in Texas, Buc-ee’s is Texas-centric when it comes to the mix of food and merchandise, the Louisiana Buc-ee’s will offer Louisiana-centric products with help from local vendors.
