Parker’s has donated $32,000 to the communities it serves in the past two weeks.
Parker’s, through its Fueling the Community program, recently donated $15,000 to Savannah-Chatham County, Ga. Public Schools. Parker’s presented the check on Feb. 26 at a ceremony at Godley Station School in Pooler, Ga.
This donation is part of the $32,000 that Parker’s has donated to area schools over the past two weeks.
Jeff Bush, director of fuel management at Parker’s, presented the check to Thomas Lockamy, the superintendent of schools, and Godley Station School principal John King. Teachers and students joined Chewy, the official Parker’s mascot, to celebrate.
“At Parker’s, we believe in giving back to every community where we do business,” Bush said. “We understand that education has the power to transform lives. We’re proud to be headquartered in Savannah, Ga. and are honored to support Chatham County, Ga. schools through our Fueling the Community Program.”
Parker’s donates a portion of the proceeds from every gallon of gas purchased at all 43 of its convenience stores on the first Wednesday of each month to community schools. The Fueling the Community program officially launched in the fall of 2011 and donates more than $100,000 each year to public and private schools throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
