Drivers in Toledo, Ohio recently encountered fuel prices under 20 cents per gallon.
A computer glitch at an Ohio Pilot travel center ignited a price war on the morning of Sunday, Feb. 14. Drivers who were out and about in the early morning hours in Toledo, Ohio were in for a real treat.
According to a report from WWLP-22 News, when the computer glitched at the Pilot travel center on Hagmann Rd., around 2:30 a.m., the price for fuel stood at 49-cents per gallon, and by 4 a.m., prices had dropped to 19 cents. In the spirit of competition, the glitch prompted the Circle K across the street to drop its prices to just 17 cents per gallon.
The drivers who were awake and lucky enough to stumble upon these incredible prices shared the good news with friends on social media.
WWLP-22 News reported that the price drop lasted for approximately three hours, but the glitch has been fixed and prices are back up to a normal rate.
