The phrase “Merry Christmas,” has become more of a political hot potato than ever before. Oh boy, here we go. Another fine mess we have gotten ourselves into. Whoever thought a two-word phrase might be used to inadvertently limit the customers that come into our stores?
I’m too old for all of this. I grew up wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. The fact that 25% (questionable) may be offended by my greeting, doesn’t matter to me. I mean no disrespect. It didn’t offend anyone for hundreds of years, why now? I don’t like it when someone wishes me, “Happy Holidays,” but I respect their reasons for saying it.
So, if you are one of those offended, that’s your prerogative. As for me, I accept you the way you are. But I am me, and this my tradition.
So… Merry Christmas, and God Bless You and Yours during this festive holiday season.
