Kum & Go goes above and beyond to help its customers.
The National Customer Service Association (NCSA) has named Iowa-based convenience store chain, Kum & Go, the All-Star Service Organization of the Year 2015. This award is presented annually to a single business that consistently maintains a focused culture of service excellence.
“Because of the excellent nominations received by the NCSA, it was a challenge for NCSA’s All-Star Award Committee to select a single organization to recognize,” stated Bill Crutcher, president of the National Customer Service Association. Following is an example of why they are deserving of this All-Star Award.
A man delivering RVs across the country had to stop on the side of the road in Omaha, Neb., after running out of gas. In the near distance he saw a Kum & Go store and decided to walk there for gas. Upon seeing the man enter, the manager asked him if he needed any assistance. After explaining the situation, the manager grabbed a gas can, took it to a pump and after filling it, directed the customer to his car offering him a ride back to his RV. The customer then returned to the store to top off his tank and was offered a free cup of coffee for the road. He later shared his story and appreciation while visiting Kum & Go’s corporate office in Des Moines, Iowa. He added that while on the road, he always searches for a Kum & Go.
The National Customer Service Association (NCSA) is the focal point for Customer Service education, development, and support services in the U.S. and is committed to helping its members achieve Service Excellence for every customer in every business every time.
