From free samples to prizes to activity challenges, TravelCenters helped professional drivers get the most out of GATS.
TravelCenters of America LLC (TravelCenters), operator of TA and Petro Stopping Centers branded travel centers, sponsored and hosted the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas from Aug. 27-29.
From the Shower Trailer, to FREE Truck Parking, to hosting the “Be an Instant Winner” game in its booth TravelCenters made sure professional driver attendees had a great time at the show.
FREE Truck Parking made possible by TravelCenters offered more than 36 acres of paring at the conveniently-located Cotton Bowl’s Fair Park lot, drivers were able to park trucks/RVs for FREE (no hook-ups), and use regular shuttles to and from the convention center, food vendors, showers and portable restrooms.
Shower Trailer: New this year, TA and Petro made a splash at GATS as sponsor of the shower trailer located in the FREE truck parking lot. Drivers were able to schedule a shower at the TA and Petro booth #16081or at the shower tent in the lot. TA and Petro provided two FREE souvenir towels and soap with each shower appointment, while supplies lasted.
Be an Instant Winner: With just a swipe of their UltraONE card, drivers had the chance to be instant winners and enter grand prize drawings. Grand prizes include: FREE Set of Steer Tires – one winner each day; FREE Ultimate/The Works PM Service – two winners each day; FREE 3-Axle Alignment – two winners each day; dual elite headset by Blue Tiger – one winner each day; and 2,500 UltraONE points – one winner each hour.
FREE Samples to Savor: New this year, attendees visiting TA and Petro Stopping Centers booth #16081 were in for a treat with FREE tastes of its world-famous Johnson Corner’s Cinnamon Rolls and World Blends Coffee, the freshest roast on the road.
Healthy Journey: Making the StayFit pledge to eat healthier on the road, drivers had the chance to commemorate their commitment by taking a photo with FUN-sized fruits and vegetables and grab a $1 greenback for use at TravelCenters’ restaurants by swiping their UltraONE card.
Citizen Driver Meet & Greet: On Friday, Aug. 28, from 10-11 a.m., drivers had the chance to visit with 2015 Citizen Driver honorees during the Citizen Driver open house in TravelCenters’ booth.
Maintenance Matters: Drivers were also able to stop by and visit with Homer Hogg as he shared the latest in “Maintenance Matters.”
Live Entertainment: Attendees had the chance to catch Tony Justice performing live on Thursday and Friday at 1 p.m.
Spin the Wheel: With the spin of the wheel, attendees won prizes and made donations… all proceeds benefit the St. Christopher Fund (SCF).
SCF’s Driven to Be Healthy Challenge: New this year, drivers were able to visit the SCF booth in the GATS Health Pavilion and begin SCF’s six-month health challenge. Valuable prizes were awarded to drivers with the greatest percentage weight loss and most time spent walking/running. TA and Petro supported this program with a “get started at GATS” incentive along with information and giveaways.
Health Awareness Walk: TA and Petro Stopping Centers, a co-sponsor with Trucking Solutions Group, provided a water bottle, cooling towel and 500 UltraONE points to all Health Awareness Walk participants. The walk took place on Aug. 29 at 7 a.m. at truck parking in the Cotton Bowl’s Fair Park lot. Trucking Solutions Group conducted the Health Awareness Walk in conjunction with the GATS Fit For The Road 5K Run/Walk. Registration fees were donated to SCF.
