Parker’s presents $5,000 check to Bulloch County Schools, as part of the Fueling the Community Program.
Parker’s recently presented a $5,000 Fueling the Community check to Bulloch County Schools at its board of education meeting in Statesboro, Ga., on June 11.
The donation was part of a larger unrestricted charitable contribution to area schools.
“I hope this donation will benefit teachers, students and families in Bulloch County,” said Parker’s President and CEO Greg Parker, who presented the check to Dr. LeVon Wilson, Bulloch County Schools board chairman. “I truly believe education is the key to creating stronger communities.”
Parker’s donates one cent of every gallon of gas purchased at all of its convenience stores on the first Wednesday of the month to area schools through the Fueling the Community program. The company’s charitable initiative officially launched in the fall of 2011 and regularly donates money to public and private schools across Georgia and South Carolina.
Parker’s customers can sign up for a PumpPal card online at www.PumpPalClub.com to select a school of their choice for their one cent per gallon donation. Existing PumpPal members can access their account online and select a specific school to receive donations.
“At Parker’s, we’re deeply committed to giving back to every community where we do business,” said Parker. “We believe education has the power to reduce crime, strengthen neighborhoods and transform lives.”
Parker’s has been ranked on Inc.’s elite list of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. for three consecutive years and has opened eight new stores over the past year. Parker’s currently operates 37 convenience stores across the region and employs nearly 500 individuals throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
