Raises $11,000 to fight hunger and homelessness.
NOCO Express stores, its customers, and employees raised $11,000 to support Friends of Night People. Throughout the entire month of November, paper plates were sold for $1 each at all of NOCO Express’ 37 locations with all proceeds benefiting Friends of Night People.
“Because of the dedication and ongoing work of the Friends of Night People, those in our community who may otherwise go without are provided with the basic supplies that they need,” said that Jim DeFilippis, general manager, NOCO Express. “This was the first time we had conducted an in-store campaign to benefit the Friends of Night People. Thank you to our customers and associates who gave generously to assist their neighbors in need.”
“NOCO, their associates, and members of this community continue to show their generosity by supporting Friends of Night People to eliminate hunger and homelessness,” said Joseph Heary, executive director, Friends of Night People. “This contribution will help provide meals, warmth, and hope to so many in need.”
Friends of Night People is a charitable organization that helps the poor, homeless and destitute in Buffalo by providing food, clothing, medical care, counseling and hope to those in need. Friends of Night People served more than 115,000 meals in 2014. All services are provided free of charge and the organization relies on the generosity of volunteers and contributors.
