The United States Mint asks the c-store industry to weigh in on possible coin changes.
How would changes to circulating coins impact your industry?
The Coin Modernization Oversight and Continuity Act of 2010, Public Law 111-301, authorizes the United States Mint to conduct research and appropriate testing on the use of alternative metals in the production of U.S. circulating coins.
The public law requires the Department of the Treasury to consider factors relevant to the potential impact any revision to the metal compositions would have on merchants and other industry stakeholders.
The United States Mint invites industry stakeholders, which includes the convenience store industry, to provide written comments on the impacts to these potential changes.
The Federal Register Notice details how to provide your comments to the Mint.
