Fueling the Community Program assists local schools.
Parker’s recently presented a $2,000 Fueling the Community check to Bryan County Schools in Richmond Hill, Ga.
The unrestricted donation, which is part of a larger unrestricted charitable contribution to area schools in Georgia and South Carolina, was officially presented at Richmond Hill Elementary School on Feb. 24.
“We’re deeply committed to giving back to every community where Parker’s does business,” said Greg Parker, president and CEO of Parker’s. “I truly believe education is the rising tide that lifts all boats and makes Bryan County a stronger community. I am pleased to support the hard-working teachers and administrators working in the Bryan County School System through this donation.”
Parker’s donates one cent of every gallon of gas purchased at all of its convenience stores on the first Wednesday of the month to area schools through the Fueling the Community program. The company’s charitable initiative officially launched in the fall of 2011 and has donated money to public and private schools throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
The company’s PumpPal club, which provides discounts of up to 10 cents on every gallon of gas purchased, has saved customers over $4 million since the program first launched in February of 2011. Today, the PumpPal program has more than 80,000 members throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
Parker’s currently operates 34 convenience stores across the region and plans to open additional locations within the year.
The company has three locations in Richmond Hill and employs more than 500 people throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
