Non-profits can win $5,000 in CITGO gift cards for helping local communities.
CITGO Petroleum Corp. invites eligible 501(c)(3) organizations to enter its Fall Fueling Good Project to win $5,000 in CITGO Gift Cards for doing good in their local communities.
From now until Oct. 20, non-profit organizations can enter this year’s program at www.FuelingGood.com/participate or on the Fueling Good Facebook page.
From Oct. 21 to Dec. 1, the general public, including volunteers and supporters of each eligible charity that has registered, can vote once per day for the entry that is making the most impact in their community. A total of nine winners will be announced in December and will be awarded $5,000 in CITGO Gift Cards to help them do more good.
“Fueling Good is a core philosophy that helps define our company and our network of nearly 6,000 locally owned retail locations,” said Gustavo Velásquez, vice president of supply and marketing with CITGO. “We believe in helping others, and our independent Marketers and Retailers, as well as our employees are committed to supporting their local communities. Since we began Fueling Good in 2009, we have assisted more than 220 charities and more than 100 schools. The current Fueling Good Project is our way to recognize even more local heroes in neighborhoods across the CITGO footprint.”
Eligible organizations must be relevant to one of the four CITGO brand pillars: Education and Social Investment; Energy Assistance and Conservation; Environmental Protection and Restoration; and Health and Well-Being. In addition, they must operate within the 27 states or the District of Columbia where there are CITGO-branded locations.
Past winners have used their awards to operate a book bus that gives children free books, fuel deliveries and operations for local food banks, transport people to work and medical appointments, provide mobile health and dentistry services, and much more.
