Susser Holdings and Susser Petroleum Partners each announced new additions to their Board of Directors this week.
Susser Petroleum Partners LP elected Frank Risch, a retired Exxon Mobil Corporation executive, to the Board of Directors of Susser Petroleum Partners GP LLC, the general partner of Susser Petroleum Partners LP. Risch has been named to the Audit and Conflicts committees of the Board.
Susser Holdings Corp. elected Andrew “Drew” Alexander, president and CEO of Weingarten Realty to Susser Holding’s Board of Directors.
“Frank brings to our Company long experience in the petroleum business,” said Sam Susser, chairman of Susser Petroleum Partners. “His extensive knowledge and experience across finance, planning and marketing within our industry will be a major asset to our Board.”
Risch served as Vice President, Treasurer and Principal Financial Officer of Exxon Mobil Corporation from January 1999 until his retirement in June 2004. Previously, he had served as Vice President and Treasurer of predecessor Exxon Corporation. Risch joined Exxon as a financial analyst and subsequently held positions as Manager of Corporate Finance, Executive Assistant to the Chairman, Assistant Controller and Assistant Treasurer.
He also serves on the Board of Directors of Pioneer Natural Resources Co. and on the Business Board of Advisors of the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University and is active in civic and community organizations, including the Dallas Theater Center, Communities Foundation of Texas, the ATT Performing Arts Center and Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
Drew Alexander
With Susser Holdings Corp.’s election of Alexander to its Board of Directors, Susser Holding’s Board expands to seven directors. Alexander will serve as a Class I director, with a term expiring in 2016, and has been named to the Compensation Committee of the Board.
“Drew’s extensive senior executive experience in the real estate sector and capital markets will provide additional industry perspective to our Board,” said Sam Susser, chairman and CEO of Susser Holdings. “His expertise in development, leasing and complex financial and real estate transactions will prove invaluable as we continue to accelerate the development of new Stripes® convenience store locations across our Texas markets.”
Alexander has served as CEO of Weingarten Realty since 2001 and President since 1997. From 1993-1997, he was Executive Vice President/Asset Manager. Alexander joined Weingarten Realty in 1978 as a Leasing Executive in the Retail Division. Previously, he was a director of Academy Sports & Outdoors, Inc.
Alexander serves on the board of the Texas Medical Center, the board of the Gladney Center Endowment and the board of the Houston Food Bank Endowment and Houston Partnership. He is the past chair of the International Council of Shopping Centers, past trustee of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and previously served on the board of the Houston Food Bank.
