“The business partnership we’ve established with MAPCO is a real win for the community,” says USPS spokesperson.
Mailing a letter in Memphis just got easier.
MAPCO convenience stores recently teamed with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to offer four new contracted postal units in Memphis, the Memphis Business Journal reported.
The units aim to provide retail and mail services at USPS prices, making it more convenient for residents of Memphis to send mail. The postal service will operate during normal business hours and will be operated by MAPCO employees, as opposed to USPS workers.
“We are thrilled to offer our products and service to Memphis customers at more convenient locations throughout town,” Chivon Dechelle, retail manager for the USPS Tennessee District told the Memphis Business Journal. “The business partnership we’ve established with MAPCO is a real win for the community.”
Currently some 5,000 contracted postal units exist across the country, with 59 in Tennessee alone. USPS hopes to expand this division in an effort to better meet the needs of customers, while focusing on other growth areas.
