TravelCenters of America moves forward with its StayFit program by adding a new fitness center at a Dallas-based store.
TravelCenters of America opened its 40th StayFit fitness center in a Dallas-based travel plaza.
The company announced all of its StayFit fitness rooms are free to professional drivers who carry the UltraONE Driver Rewards card.
The new fitness rooms include dual adjustable pulley weight training resistance equipment, adjustable sit-up boards, elliptical cross-trainers for cardio workouts and recumbent bikes for cardio workouts. The rooms also provide weight scales, workout mats, wall-mounted TVs and fans.
“Professional drivers simply need to swipe their UltraONE card to enter the fitness room,” said Tom O’Brien, president and CEO of TravelCenters. “Getting and staying healthy isn’t easy, but hopefully we are making it a little easier for drivers by offering forty fitness centers nationwide, and making them free to use.”
TA launched its StayFit program in early 2011, and has continued to expand it. The company plans to open its 41st StayFit room next week in Carnesville, Ga. The program also offers “better-for-you” food options in restaurants and travel stores for drivers constantly on-the-go.
