Matt Thornton says he is proud to be a partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a fifth year.
Thorntons announced that for the fifth consecutive year, it would partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
On May 1, all Thorntons store locations began to sell “wish stars” for $1. All of the proceeds go to the foundation.
Thorntons has raised more than $50,000 toward the foundation since they started their partnership in 2008.
“We are very proud to partner with such a great organization,” said Matt Thornton, president and CEO of Thorntons. “We have seen an overwhelmingly positive response from our customers in regards to this program, and we are thrilled to serve as a vehicle for our customers to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation.”
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes of children who have life-threatening medical conditions to give them joy, hope and strength. The foundation formed in 1983, and the Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana chapter is the largest in the world. So far, it has fulfilled 852 wishes of local children since this chapter started in 2001.
Thorntons, headquartered in Louisville, Ky., operates 166 gasoline and convenience stores in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee.
