The new T3s will double the Department’s fleet of electric standup vehicles.
7-Eleven Inc. is doubling the Dallas Police Department’s fleet of T3 Series electric standup vehicles (ESV) to help increase safety and reduce crime in Downtown Dallas.
The T3 is an urban mobility tool for the Dallas Police Department, a zero-gas emission, clean energy three-wheeled personal vehicle with a long battery run time and short recharge time.
“7-Eleven is a great example of what can happen when a corporation sees an opportunity to help the community and seizes it,” said Mayor Mike Rawlings. “We need more partnerships like this to support city resources like the Dallas Police Department, which do so much every day to protect our community.”
The T3s are highly stable with a low center of gravity, offering wide visibility for the officer driving since they are elevated on a nine-inch platform, striking a commanding presence. The T3s can access restricted spaces including elevators and narrow corridors, handles curbs easily and is highly agile with a zero-degree turning radius, while also being very quiet.
“7-Eleven believes in supporting causes that are aligned with community and guest interests and enhancing the overall quality of life in neighborhoods where our guests and franchisees live and work, while also making the community safer,” said Mark Stinde, 7-Eleven’s asset protection vice president. “The donation of these T3s will do just that –help the Dallas police officers make our communities safer.”
“These vehicles have many practical uses that will enhance public safety, especially in places or events where crowds gather,” said Dallas Police Chief David Brown. “The T3s allow the officers to see better, over vehicles and crowds, and when responding to a call, we can get there faster and without being fatigued.”
