At an awards banquet, the Nice N Easy team celebrates employees who have worked with the company for five to 30 years.
Canastota, N.Y. –based Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes recently recognized several employees who achieved very important milestones at a Service Awards Banquet held at The Rusty Rail in Canastota.
President and CEO John MacDougall congratulated the employees being honored as the company gathered to celebrate a total of 345 years of service.
Nice N Easy recognized 48 employees that have been employed for anywhere from five to 30 years with Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes.
“We strive to build a team, have quality people and have success in retaining the best people in the industry. MacDougall understands that jobs at Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes take time away from people’s personal lives and loved ones. Therefore, the people at Nice N Easy are treated like a family — Good times are celebrated and problems are discussed and resolved. Together, as a family, Nice N Easy employees all achieve their goals – both personally and professionally. MacDougall considers the Service Awards Banquet a ‘Celebration of Thanks,’ the company said in a press release.
The emcee of the evening was Jeffery Ginn, director of human resources, who has been with Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes for 19 years. Ginn reminded the crowd what historical events took place during the year each of the honorees were hired and agreed that he has spent much of his life with Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes and it has been very enjoyable.
Melissa Tupper, assistant manager at the Star Lake Shoppe, celebrated 10 years of service. For years, Melissa would drive her four-wheeler several miles to and from work. She is a dedicated employee and puts her focus on the store and demonstrates outstanding customer service
Jared Sturtevant, director of marketing, is a superstar at Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes. Fifteen years ago, he started as a part-time store associate, worked in several Shoppes, and was promoted to director of marketing just last year. According to MacDougall, “Jared was exceptional in every level of the jobs he held over the years. He is committed and takes on any challenge and succeeds!”
Ione Hewitt, manager at the Phoenix Nice N Easy, was recognized for her 20 years of service. Twenty years ago, she was hired on the spot and remains a key member of the store management. She consistently brings people up through the company, mentoring every step of the way. “She is a shining light at Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes,” MacDougall said.
With Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes celebrating 30 years in business it was honored to recognize Sally Johnson for her commitment of 30 years. “Sally is an exceptional employee and started working at the very first Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppe in Clinton. She is a great employee and always has fun,” the company said.
The evening concluded with MacDougall again thanking everyone associated with Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes, noting he is very grateful to all employees who choose to work with the company and work for the Nice N Easy mission statement, “Be Nice! Sell Stuff! Be the Best!
Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes currently operates more than 80 stores in Upstate New York.
