Street teams to randomly distribute $18,000 in gift cards as well as other prizes at select locations Sept. 3.
Irving Oil and Sobeys are re-launching their popular gas savings program in Atlantic Canada on Sept. 3, by deploying Easy to Save Street Teams at 18 Irving and Sobeys locations in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island.
The street teams will clean windshields, return shopping carts and offer free giveaways like eco-friendly shopping bags, reusable coupon cases, and flexible Frisbees to celebrate the re-launch of the program. Some lucky shoppers could also find Irving and Sobeys gift cards in their eco-friendly bags and coupon cases at these events. In total, $18,000 in gift cards will be distributed to customers across the four provinces.
Starting Sept. 3 Sobeys shoppers across Atlantic Canada will automatically receive a paper coupon for per-litre savings at Irving with a minimum $50 grocery purchase. With a purchase of $250 or more, customers can save nine cents per litre at Irving Service Stations and Travel Plazas. Multiple coupons can be used together to maximize savings, which can be earned until Nov. 10. The last date to redeem is Nov. 24.
“We are excited to reintroduce this program so our customers can immediately take advantage of savings,” said Harry Hadiaris, general manager of Irving Oil. “This gas coupon program has already saved customers close to $11 million. With no membership required, Irving and Sobeys continue to make it simple and convenient for customers to save.”
Since the program’s inception, hundreds of thousands of fuel savings coupons have been issued to customers in Atlantic Canada.
“With fall fast approaching and kids heading back-to-school, parents are stocking up on the essentials they need for healthy lunches,” Cindy Stevens, vice president of marketing, Sobeys Atlantic. “In addition to lowering thousands of prices in-store, the re-launch of the program is a great way to thank our customers for choosing Sobeys and to help them save that little bit extra.”
