Irving Oil today announced plans to establish and conduct a convenience store buying group called the Irving Oil Buying Club as part of its new partnership with the Royal Buying Group Inc.
“Our goal was to create a convenience retailing solution to provide our Irving distributors and dealers a consistent offering for promotional activities,” said Aaron Dube, marketing performance manager for Irving Oil Marketing Inc. “Irving retail locations will increase their promotional and operational efficiencies by accessing RBG’s programs, products and services directly through the Irving Oil Buying Club Website.”
This agreement will allow Royal Buying Group to provide convenience retailing services to all Irving branded channel partners in the form of marketing programs, rebate administration, and promotion management.
“By combining the strategic directives of the Irving Oil Marketing Team, with our niche services for the independent retailer, Royal Buying Group has taken a significant step in aggregating the buying power of all Irving branded channel partners,” said Angela Angelilli, vice president of member services for Royal Buying Group. “We are looking forward to utilizing the strength of the Irving brand to create impactful marketing programs and promotions. Our personal relationships, training services and merchandising capabilities will continue to help both vendors and operators achieve the competitive edge in the convenience store industry.”
Irving Oil operates 900 retail locations in New England and Eastern Canada. The company operates Canada’s largest refinery, in Saint John, N.B., and accounts for 19% of all U.S. gasoline imports.
